For security, protecting our workbook with a password is crucial. This can be done from the ‘Info’ tab under ‘Protect Workbook’ in Excel. We may decide to set passwords that restrict the editing of specific parts of the gradebook or the entire document, depending on our specific needs. 

Additionally, keeping a regular backup of the Excel files in a secure location, either in cloud storage or an external drive, ensures that we have access to our data in case of hardware failure or accidental deletion.
